Common questions

Does the app really count hands-free?
Yes — with any earbuds or just your phone's mic, no special hardware required. Count without tapping a screen 108 times and without a mala, two ways: with Say it, softly say — or whisper — your naam and the app recognizes each repetition for an exact count; or with Chant, say your naam and it counts each by sound, so it keeps counting with the screen off and your phone in your pocket, eyes closed. A classic tap counter and a dark, invisible tap mode are there too when you prefer touch.
Is my practice private?
Your voice is completely private — all counting and speech recognition happen on your device, and we never collect or upload your microphone audio. Your counts (totals, streak, history) are backed up to your account so you never lose your practice, and we don't sell your data or share how you count. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Which devices are supported?
NaamAmrit is on iPhone now, with Android to follow. Hands-free counting works on any device — any earbuds, or just the phone's mic — so you don't need any special hardware or a watch; there's even a phone-tilt mode that counts with a gentle tilt. Prefer your wrist? Apple Watch counting is built in — a tap, the Digital Crown, or a wrist-flick on any Watch running watchOS 10 or later (Series 4+), plus the Double Tap pinch on Series 9, Ultra 2 and newer — synced live with your phone. And on Apple Watch Series 8 or newer, Gupt Jaap (a Premium feature) keeps a completely hidden sitting — arm at your side or hand in a pocket, screen dark, a gentle thumb-to-finger pinch counts one naam, answered only by a silent wrist tap.
Where can I download it?
NaamAmrit is live on the App Store for iPhone (Apple Watch support built in). Search “NaamAmrit” or open the App Store from the download button on our home page. Free to download — the tap counter is free forever.
How do I delete my data?
Email privacy@naamamrit.com any time to access or delete the email you gave us. Every email we send also includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
