Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
AK Trading & Associates LLC (“we”, “us”) operates NaamAmrit (the “Service”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run your account and safely back up your practice.
The short version
- You sign in with Apple or Google. We use that to create your account so your practice is backed up and follows you to any device.
- Your voice never leaves your device. Hands-free counting processes the microphone on your phone in real time — audio is never recorded, stored, or uploaded.
- We back up your counts, not your voice. Your totals, streak, history, goals, and settings are saved to your account so you never lose them.
- No ads, no cross-site tracking, no selling your data. We don’t use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps or websites. (Our website uses cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics, and the app sends crash reports so we can fix bugs — both detailed below.)
Information we collect
- Account & identity. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique account identifier, and your name and email address if the provider shares them (Apple lets you hide your name and relay a private email). We use this to authenticate you and tie your practice to your account.
- Your practice data. Your jaap and mala counts, streaks, per-day history, daily goal, custom mantras, sankalp, sadhana progress, dedications, and session logs are stored on your device. When you sign in, we back up your aggregate counts — lifetime and daily totals, your streak, and your per-day history — along with your subscription plan, to your account on our servers, so they sync across your devices and survive reinstalling the app. To merge your counts correctly across devices we also send a self-generated per-install identifier (not an advertising ID). Everything else — your custom mantras, sankalp, sadhana progress, dedications, and detailed session logs — stays on your device. The one exception: if you use the Premium weekly reflection, a small aggregate digest (your weekly counts, active and goal days, streak, best practice hour, the name of your selected mantra, and your current sankalp and sadhana progress) is sent to our server and our AI provider (Anthropic) to write that reflection, whenever you use that feature. It is not stored on our servers.
- Microphone (hands-free counting). The optional “Say it” and “Chant” modes use your microphone to count your naam. This audio is processed entirely on-device in real time and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. You can use the app without granting microphone access.
- Motion (gesture counting). The optional phone-tilt mode and the Apple Watch wrist-flick use your device’s motion sensors (gyroscope) to detect a counting gesture. Motion data is processed entirely on-device in real time and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted — only the resulting count is stored. You can use the app without granting motion access.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Premium, our subscription-management provider (RevenueCat) processes purchase-related data (the App Store transaction and a stable account identifier we assign, derived from your sign-in) to validate and restore your subscription. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your card details.
- Diagnostics. To keep the app stable, we collect crash, error, and performance reports through our diagnostics provider, Sentry. Alongside a crash we send a short, non-identifying trail of recent in-app actions — which screens you viewed and which features or the paywall you tapped — so we can reproduce the problem. We configure these reports to exclude personal identifiers, and they are never linked to advertising or used to track you across other apps.
- Website analytics. Our marketing website uses Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service that is cookieless, stores no personal information, does not track you across sites, and only counts aggregate visits and clicks.
- Waitlist email. If you join our waitlist on this website, we store the email you provide and the page it came from, so we can notify you when access opens.
How we use your information
We use your data only to run the Service: sign you in, back up and sync your practice, manage your subscription, keep the app working, and (for the waitlist) send you launch updates. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers who help us run NaamAmrit, under agreements that limit them to that purpose: Apple and Google (sign-in), our cloud hosting and database providers (to store your account and backed-up practice data), RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions and payment), Sentry (the crash/error and performance reports described above), Anthropic (only if you use the Premium weekly reflection — it receives the aggregate digest to generate it and does not retain it), Plausible (cookieless website analytics), and, for the website waitlist, our email and database providers (Resend and Supabase). We do not sell your data to anyone.
Your rights & choices
You can access or delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app, or by emailing privacy@naamamrit.com. Deleting your account removes your practice data from our servers. Every waitlist email we send also includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights — see our Do Not Sell or Share page. If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
Legal basis & international transfers
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on these bases: running your account and backing up your practice (performance of our contract with you); keeping the app stable via diagnostics (our legitimate interest in a reliable Service); and sending waitlist updates (your consent, which you can withdraw anytime via the unsubscribe link). We and our service providers are located in the United States, so using the Service transfers your data outside the EEA/UK; where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses as the safeguard for those transfers.
Data retention & security
We keep your account and practice data until you delete your account (or ask us to). We keep your waitlist email until you unsubscribe — after which we retain a minimal suppression record so we don’t email you again. We use industry-standard technical safeguards — including encryption in transit — to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, includes an age confirmation, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
